10 Times Emma Watson Killed It.

We pretty much all love Emma Watson. She’s pretty, bright, funny, talented and somehow so lovable that we like her rather than feel jealous of her. Emma, you’re perfect! This is our list of ten times Emma Watson was just plain perfect.

1: Hermione Granger.

Emma started her life of celebrity as Hermione Granger in the film adaptation of Harry Potter. Even though she had only ever starred in school plays until then, J.K. Rowling loved her portrayal and so did the critics! She got better and better and we all still love her portrayal, from the first to the last film. She got the character spot on and kept it going for over a decade. We would watch her as Hermione forever.

2: Teen Vogue.

Not only did she start acting young and become a huge hit, she also started modelling young and became a huge hit there too! Watson featured in Teen Vogue and was absolutely amazing as a model. She has all sorts of star talent and her natural, human-looking beauty put her miles ahead of many other models, making her an excellent role model for young girls everywhere.

3: A degree.

Not only is she beautiful and talented, she’s bright. She has degrees from Brown and Oxford. The fact she actually bothered with degrees is praiseworthy. How many people on that sort of a paycheck would even bother with education as well? But she balanced her stardom with focused schooling and got degrees from two of the best universities on the planet.

4: The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Like her Harry Potter costar Daniel Radcliffe, she didn’t want to just be known as “that girl who played Hermione Granger”. She is a talented actress and wanted it to show through. And one feature where it most showed was in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Emma plays Sam, a senior at the main character’s high school who takes it on as her duty to be friends with him. It’s adorable!

5: Rockin the pixie.

Not many girls or women feel confident chopping their hair back, especially when so many sexists and fashionistas frown on it for gender and style reasons. But much like Audrey Hepburn, Emma showed the world that any girl can really rock a pixie with style and confidence. Though maybe not quite as well as Emma can!

6: Burberry.

Emma looked almost unrecognisable in her Burberry photoshoot. She has kept that star quality that made her look so cool in Teen Vogue and then some. A solid reminder that she is stylish, cool, quirky and that she can pull off a character even in a photoshoot.

7: British Artist of the Year.

In October 2014, Emma Watson won British Artist of the Year, honouring her film and TV work in England and the USA alike. Her hard work, talent and uniqueness are definitely still paying off years down the line! This girl is more than a child star and we hope to see so much more of her (and so many more awards) well into the distant future.

8: Ambassador.

Not many film stars become political influences. By becoming the UN’s Women Goodwill Ambassador, Emma joins the likes of JFK and Arnold Schwarzenegger. She will work with the UN to promote gender equality in the West and in developing nations, improving the lives of girls and women everywhere and raising awareness of inequalities that we can address. She is an inspiration to these girls also. Emma Watson, your film idol, is also an educated woman in politics who wants you to do as well as her!

9: The Vicar of Dibley.

As part of her feminist credibility, Emma Watson starred in an excellent piece of British social commentary. The Vicar of Dibley is a sitcom that follows the struggles of a woman vicar in a small, rural English town. It has been running since 1994, but in 2015 Emma Watson made a star appearance for the British charity Children in Need!

10: #HeforShe.

Watson’s most memorable Goodwill speech calling out for men everywhere, especially in the West, to look at what they can do for women. It reminded us all that however much women like Emma do for other women, change must come from those who hold the gender power. She inspired many men to reconsider what they can do for women and feminism. Emma Watson: changing the world a little bit at a time.

And those are only ten times Emma Watson killed it. What an amazing woman! She has accomplished so much in her short time on Earth and we hope she has many more decades to make films, promote women’s rights and generally keep being awesome.
